The Past Month and a Half
In the past month and a half we’ve (Dr. Kim, Jefferson and I--Elijah)been in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Massachusetts. We’ve visited schools like: U Conn, Yale, Harvard, MIT, Tufts, Boston College, Wellesley, Boston University, Brown, Binghamton, Cornell, NYU and Rutgers, to name a few. Each meeting has been different—the numbers fluctuating from a handful to about 70. The best part, besides the prayer, has been the opportunity to meet students on these campuses and hear the experiences, hardships, and pressures that they face. I’ve been learning what the spiritual dynamic is like for Christians at these different schools, people who are just like me in a lot of ways—a student trying to make sense of the world around me and wanting to be used by God.
All the churches we've visited have had different dynamics in prayer. All the responses we've received vary from one end to the other. This is not to say that some churches are better than others, but that each church has their own style. As we’re trying to create a network of prayer warriors, we’ve accumulated roughly 400 people to commit to fasting and prayer for America. Simply put, wow! It's amazing how the gospel connects people together despite their differences.
